Most Disliked

A few guests express minor dissatisfaction with the wait times during peak hours, especially on weekends when the place fills quickly. Some reviewers mentioned that while the dining experience is generally fantastic, there are moments when service can feel stretched thin. A rare comment notes that the parking can become tricky, especially during busy hours; however, the wheelchair-accessible facilities are appreciated by those who need them. Lastly, for diners who prefer late-night options, note that The Saracens Head operates with limited late-night offerings compared to other bars or eateries in the area.

Dinner Oak at the Saracens Head New era for historic venue. With new owners, who have taken over the bar, kitchen, restaurant, and function room of the hotel. They have appointed a new chef. There are all brand new menus for lunch and dinner.Offering a combination of classic dishes, including steak, fish and chips, and a Sunday roast. Also, there are a couple of things you don’t see anywhere else. We chose Starters French Onion Soup Gruyère Crouton £6.95 Harissa Monkfish £7.95 Carrot Bhaji, Carrot Curry, Passionfruit Gel. Mains Roasted Hake £17.50 Mussels, Turnip, Sea Herbs, Jersey Royals, Furikake, Cockle Sauce. Sirloin Steak £22.00 Fries, Grilled Tomato, Portobello Mushroom, and Peppercom Sauce Desserts Hay Creme Brulёe £5.50 Caramel Banana, Candied Walnut. Champagne Rhubarb Bakewell £5.95 Poached Wye Valley Rhubarb, Thyme Custard The food was all very well cooked and most delightful. They even served a couple snacks, too. Staff looked very smart and professional in their monogrammed aprons. Service with a smile. It was an enjoyable evening in a lovely dining room with chiming old clocks.

Fab venue full of clocks.. We ate early evening from the early bird option. The dishes I had were excellent. Tasty hot and well presented. Staff were friendly and welcoming, we will certainly return when we next visit the town. Also a great venue for relaxed drinks with lots of seating options.

Unbelievably beautiful food at incredibly reasonable prices. The food is high quality restaurant food at gastro pub prices, making it feel like a steal. They also do events, such as dinner balls, a few times a year, making a truly memorable evening.

Just to say thanks to David and his team for organising and running the Minster function suite for my mums wake. It was exactly as we wanted with the large numbers attending it meant my father and our family could catch up with the many friends and family attending. Everything we discussed was done and seamless. Even when we ran out of food, they sorted a few sandwiches for my dad! The bar ran smoothly also! Thank you and a pleasure to deal with you and we hope to return in happier times Gail Dewing Ps- only 4/5 on food and atmosphere as it was a wake !
